Markus is intrigued by the unique perceptions and experiences that form who we become. There is a sense of the invisible. He uses mirrors and illusions as a physical metaphor for inner reflection, positive and negative spaces as a sculptural device to deal with relationships and he hopes with his work, to inspire conversations that would otherwise not take place, encouraging the exploration of the uncharted depths of the human mind and heart.

Monkey's Typewriter

This is a response to the 'infinite monkey theorem' which states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type a given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare. Variants of the theorem include multiple and even infinitely many typists, and the target text varies between an entire library and a single sentence.

Wooden Table

In the present world, many people insist that there is just a 'wooden table', only making reference to physical phenomena, without questioning from where we may have emerged or where we may be headed.

The Book

The Word, often represented by a Book, is deeply meaningful to a huge proportion of people in this world. It has many different names, texts and languages but generally reflects, among other things, where we come from, the question of purpose, and who we are in relation to the original cause and to each other. You and I are contained or reflected within the word. The book has many names. If and how you want to relate  to it is entirely your personal CHOICE.
